About Horsle

Horsle is a small, independent site for free browser word games. No accounts, no paywalls, no tracking-heavy setup - just puzzles that load fast and run entirely in your browser.

Why "Horsle"?

The name is a nod to an old joke about daily word games: everyone already knows what a five-letter word starting with H, O, R, S, E spells. Horsle takes that joke and builds real games around it, starting with Horsedle.

What is Horsedle?

Horsedle Unlimited is a five-letter word guessing game with six tries and color-coded feedback, similar in spirit to popular daily word games - except there's no daily limit. A new word is ready as soon as you finish a round, so you can play once or play twenty times in a row.

How your data is handled

Horsedle doesn't require sign-up and doesn't run your guesses through a server. Game stats (games played, streak, win rate, guess distribution) and your settings (theme, hard mode, accessibility options) are stored only in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data, using a different browser, or switching devices will reset them. You can also clear stats yourself at any time from the in-game Settings panel.

Ads

Horsedle reserves a small desktop-only ad space to help cover hosting costs. It never overlaps the game board and is sized in advance so it doesn't shift the page around while things load.
