What is Horsedle?

Horsedle is the unlimited five-letter word game inside Horsle. Each round gives you a hidden five-letter answer, six tries, and familiar color feedback that shows which letters are correct, misplaced, or not in the word. If the Horsle homepage joke is about already knowing HORSE, Horsedle is the serious companion: a clean puzzle where the answer is not shown until you solve it or run out of guesses. Unlike a daily-only word game, Horsedle Unlimited hands you a brand new word the moment you finish a round, so there's always another puzzle to play.

How to play

1. Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter (or tap ENTER on screen).
2. Watch the tiles change color: green means the letter is correct and in the right spot, yellow means it belongs in the word but in a different spot, and gray means the letter isn't in the word at all.
3. Use each round of feedback to narrow down the hidden word.
4. You get six guesses per round. Solve it, or see the answer revealed, then hit New Word to start again immediately.

Why unlimited mode?

Horsedle is built for quick, repeatable play. Open the board, enter a valid five-letter word, read the green, yellow, and gray tiles, and use that feedback to close in on the answer. Because there's a new word every round instead of one puzzle per day, you can play a single quick round on a coffee break or chain together a dozen rounds in a row — the pace is entirely up to you.

Tips for a faster solve

• Open with a word that uses common vowels and consonants, such as one containing A, E, or O alongside frequent letters like R, S, or T.
• Avoid repeating letters you've already marked gray — they're confirmed absent from the answer.
• Once you have two or three green tiles, try guesses that test remaining letters rather than repeating what you already know.
• Keep an eye on letter position, not just presence — a yellow tile means the letter exists but needs to move.
